The Ministry of Finance submitted today the Economic and Fiscal Programme for Montenegro 2010 – 2013 to the Directorate General for Economic and Financial Affairs of the European Commission. The Economic and Fiscal Programme is a strategic document that Montenegro is developing and submitting the fifth consecutive year to the authorized institutions in prescribed deadline (31st January of the current year).

EFP is a document underlying a good cooperation between Montenegro and the European Commission, as well as our efforts and commitments in undertaking all necessary steps on the road to Europe.

The Economic and Fiscal Programme 2010 – 2013 was developed pursuant to the EC recommendations. A special emphasis was placed on envisaged measures and activities in the area of preserving public finance stability and accelerating structural reforms. More precise quantification of structural reforms impact to the budget has been given in the EFP, and may attribute to its quality.

As it was the practice in previous years, this year’s Economic and Fiscal Programme is a result of a good intersectoral cooperation of a great number of institutions such as the following: Ministry of Finance, Central Bank of Montenegro, Securities Commission, Insurance Supervision Agency, MONSTAT, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Telecommunications, Ministry of Labor and Social Care, Commission for the Control of Public Procurements Procedure, Public Procurement Commission, Commission for the Control of State Support and Aid, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and EU Integration, Directorate for the Development of SME’s, Administration for Competition Protection, Institute for Strategic Studies and Prognosis, with the UNDP Project expert’s assistance.
