Veljko Milonjić, M. Sc. - Adviser to the Minister
Veljko Milonjić was born on 18th June 1978, in Podgorica, where he finished elementary school and first three grades of Gymnasium. He finished his final graduation year at the Fort Collins High School, Colorado, USA in 1997. He graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Montenegro, Podgorica, in 2002, course International Relations, with an average score 8,65. He obtained a Master’s Degree in 2010, at the George Washington University, the Elliott School of International Affairs, and obtained a title of a Master of International Affairs Science and Political Skills, with an average score of 3,85 (out from maximum 4).
He completed trainings designed for acquiring professional techniques in the area of the European Union organized by the Center for European Studies in Strasburg, he graduated from Diplomatic Academy “Gavro Vuković“ at the University of Montenegro, and Diplomatic Academy of Vienna. He has participated in a number of seminars and professional capacity building, both in the country and abroad.
In the period from April 2003 to April 2004, he worked as an apprentice in the Ministry of Economic Relations with Abroad and European Integration of Montenegro. From April 2004 to August 2004, he worked as an advisor in the Department of European Integration in the Ministry of Economic Relations with Abroad and European Integration of Montenegro, and in the period from August 2004 to January 2007, he served as a personal secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro.
In February 2007, he became a First Secretary in the Embassy of Montenegro in the United States of America, and he performed this duty up to July 2010. In the period from 2007 to January 2011, he worked as an Advisor Grade I, in the Diplomatic Protocol of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro. In January 2011, he was appointed an advisor to the Finance Minister for International Relations.
He is a member of the George Washington University Student and Academic Association, and in the period from 1996 to 2000, he was a member of the Association of Young Ecologists of Montenegro.
He is fluent in English and fair in Italian language.
Married to Ana and has daughter Sofija.
